Shiatsu Massage

Rhythmically facilitate energy flow throughout the body

The Japanese word “Shiatsu” translates in English to “finger pressure.” Pressure points are used with gentle stretching and breathing to rhythmically facilitate energy flow throughout the body. Shiatsu Massage Therapy applies pressure to parts of the body with the use of thumbs, hands, elbows, knees, and feet. This form of massage therapy also directs attention to the rotation and stretching of limbs, joints, and pressure points (or meridians).

Essentially, Shiatsu Massage Therapy is a form of massage that can treat a gamut of internal, musculoskeletal, and mental conditions. Through testing and research, Shiatsu Massage Therapy has been found to reduce muscle stiffness, aid digestion, and influence the nervous system. Additionally, Shiatsu Massage Therapy may also treat chronic conditions, such as: headaches, digestive disorders, fatigue, insomnia, fibromyalgia, stress, anxiety, lower back pain, neck pain, and joint pain.
